- 1 lb. Hot Breakfast Sausage
- 4 oz. Cream Cheese
- 1 1/2 Cups Bisquick
- 1 Cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Besides having the best name ever for a snack, sausage balls are actually one of the easiest and most popular things I make. It’s only fair to warn you, however, if you don’t have anyone to give these away to, you will end up eating them all. They are so addictive.
The first thing you’re going to want to do is brown and crumble the sausage. Transfer the cooked sausage to a bowl and mix it together with the room temperature cream cheese. Add the Bisquick and cheese. At this point, I recommend getting your hands in there and mixing it up really good.
Once everything is combined, roll the dough into 1/2 inch balls and place on a non-stick cookie sheet. These get a little bigger as they bake, so leave a little room between them.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes, then let cool.
Since these contain meat, they should probably be refrigerated at some point, but I have left them out in a plastic bag overnight and eaten them the next day. I’m not dead, but it may not be the safest thing to do.
